Star Date 2504.16: I really think star trek is one of those shows that gets a lot of shit cuz its goofy and fun, but actually has a lot to say that people simply over look becauses of the silly factor. Like, yes I desperately want to watch Jim and Spock kiss sloppy style, but I think theres so much more to it in TOS and across the franchise. However, it just seems like modern trek writers want to distence themselves from the goofy and make star trek some grounded edgy sci-fi that has nothing to say instead of the goofy but insightful show it was in the past. I want to see people discuss technobable and philosophical problems in sparkly putfits or weird jumsuits. I dont want to watch epic space battles and "shoot first" type stories.
